Face Lift

Nowadays the term “face lift” is used to refer to a number of non-surgical procedures leading to a good deal of confusion amongst patients. A face lift operation will tighten the cheeks, jawline and neck. Here is a list of what you can and cannot expect from a face lift.
A face lift does:
  • tighten and streamline the neck and lower face
  • make the face look more youthful
  • require an incision both in front of and behind the ear
  • often include liposuction to reduce fullness in the neck and jowl area
  • take several weeks before sutures are all removed and bruising has faded
  • require careful decision making - it is not a small operation
A face lift does not:
  • improve the eyelids or forehead unless combined with surgery specific to these areas
  • remove skin imperfections caused by sun damage
  • allow a patient to return to normal activity immediately
