Blepharoplasty Surgical Technique

Eyelid surgery incisions will be made in the creases of the upper lids, and below the lashes in the lower lids. The incisions will extend no further than the outer corners of your eyes. Once the incision is made the skin will be separated from fat and muscle below. Sagging skin and muscle will then be removed along with excess fatty tissue. Finally, very fine sutures are used to close the incisions.

Eyelid Surgery Post Operative Care

Following the eyelid surgery your eyes will be lubricated. Any temporary pain or discomfort will be controlled with medication. Virtually all patients recover from eyelid surgery in two to four weeks. In most cases you will be able to resume normal activities within a week to ten days. Eyelid surgery scarring is minimal and will fade away almost completely with time.
